As anyone who reads this blog knows, I do try to follow others. This piece is a pretty good read, except for the last paragraph. It may be hard to write and have a full time job at the same time, but that’s what many have to do to make ends meet. While the author seems to be focusing on creative writing, this can apply to ezine or magazine pieces as well. After all, a writer is trying to convey a thought or fact to share with an audience, be it a screenplay or book review.
It would be nice to get some freelance work from a real publication, and get paid, for a subject you know well, but that’s a long shot. However, reading other paragraphs in this article, I see that I’m on the right track. It’s just a matter of people I send emails to at publications getting back with me and realizing I’m serious perhaps.
