We made another list it seems.

Scrolling down my Google News lists for information that doesn’t require me to buy a subscription, I came across another ‘wonderful’ news blurb about Cleveland. I never heard of Engineer your Finances in my life but this radio station cited an article from them saying that Toledo and Cleveland were on their list of the ’21 worst run cities’ in the nation with Cleveland being and they seem to have obtained this list from Wallet Hub (whatever that is) so take it with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, with all the other bad lists we have been on such as with U.S. News and World Reports in recent years I’m surprised if there was some truth to it. After all, they are right in saying we lost 600,000 people since the 1950 census and the continued population loss is the reason why we will be losing two more council people which could mean the end of Ward 8 as we know it. Also, cops continue to leave and it seems that the old playbook from the Positively Global Cleveland crowd continues with money towards downtown and the lakefront which I admit is wonderful but still nothing really done for the neighborhoods.

While Pittsburgh is not a boomtown by a long shot, and the metro area overall still declining, the fact that the central city’s population has remained stable and even gained a little, is something I sure wish we had here at least. However, people are voting with their feet and that calls for new leadership. Now, who can we get that’s better than Bibb?

Half the year is over so let’s see if any good news for the city outside of the Innerbelt pops up in the national press.
